Cherish Update

By: Leah Cason

My cycle skipped a month.

I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in my early 20's. Highly irregular menstruation is a symptom of this charming little monster. Skipping a month has become pretty expected, but that doesn't mean I wasn't surprised...and a little disappointed, believe it or not. I was looking forward to sharing a report on my second cycle of Cherish with you and was on edge all of September, thinking: "Uh I pregnant??" Obviously, though, I was not or I wouldn't be writing this entry.

October 1st, in fact, "Aunt Flo" dropped in for a visit. There was no cramping at all, so I was shocked to see a hint of red when I used the bathroom that evening. Rather than go into as much detail as I did in my last post, I will keep this one short.

As I discovered the first time around, I still did not need any pain medication. There was no itching, rashes or odors, so I was confident in my movements and worry-free throughout the day. A happy new effect, though, is I didn't pass any of the large clots I am used to experiencing. The little ones I did notice were small enough to look more like regular flow and not clots at all. To top it all off, I did not wake up to ANY stains this month...yaaaaaay! I can't remember if that has ever happened, even with my old brand!

In August, my cycle went down to 7 days. This time, it dropped down to only 5, ending the evening of October 6th! *GASP* I am soooo excited to be seeing these results! I did still use the Overnight size during the day, but only had ONE DAY of heavy flow. Before Cherish, I would face at least 3 or 4, so I am excited to know that the longer I use these pads, the shorter my cycle will be. (Total, I used 6 Overnight pads, 8 Night and 5 Day.)

Ladies across the country (and now in Jamaica and the Bahamas) are finally breaking free from the chemicals and "detoxing the box" while also realizing how much of an impact our old brands were having on our health. For the remainder of this month, I will be wearing the liners daily to see if they have an impact on my overall cycle. So far, I am thrilled with the changes and rejoice in knowing I am finally having a happier period ♥
